No Kings: Vote Early, scheduled for October 17, is an urgent, massive day of voter participation and election protection. As Election Day approaches and early voting begins soon in many states, casting a ballot will be a key tool for making our voices heard.
Why Vote Early?
Voting early gives eligible voters more opportunities to participate and make their voices heard.
It gives people time to deal with problems that could otherwise keep them from voting on Election Day.
Voting early also gives communities more time to help neighbors, friends, family members, and coworkers make their own plans to participate.
In communities where voting has already started, October 17 should be a celebration of voting: walk to the polls together, organize rides, bring your neighborhood together, and help eligible voters participate.
Where voting begins later, October 17 is about making sure everyone knows when voting starts, where to find reliable information, and what their plan is.
To find and sign up for events on October 17th near you go to: https://www.nokings.org/#map As of the writing of this article, there are local No Kings/Vote Early events in Lewisville, Denton, Dallas, McKinney, Frisco, and Plano. Once you decide which ones you are going to, let us know at gotv@horizonuu.org so that we can coordinate to let others from Horizon know who is going and to gather to protest together.
Horizon will not be holding an event on October 17th but will be sponsoring an: I Voted Early Sticker Board. Members who voted early are asked to put their I VOTED sticker on the board and sign it to encourage others to do the same.
