Preschoolers
Our 3–5 year olds will explore their spirituality through lessons inspired by the acclaimed series Bluey. Using play, stories, and group conversation, these sessions teach social‑emotional skills that reflect our core Unitarian Universalist values. Children will also be introduced to our UU rituals and seasonal and holiday themes.
Grades K-6
In this Montessori-inspired program, elementary children will explore the day’s lesson in a format of their choice: through Art, Games, Contemplative Activities, and a rotation of STEM and Music/Drama. Sunday topics are based on our monthly Soul Matters themes which delve into life issues, teach healthy emotional skills, and support our progressive religious values.
Jr. High Human Sexuality
(inquire about 7th graders) This course guides participants to make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. Using a holistic approach, it provides medically accurate and developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality.
Sunday Youth Group
Grades 7-12th
The youth group will meet on selected Sunday mornings from 10:45-11:45 and for outings and fun. Youth Group is youth-centered and teens have input on topics covered during their time together.
Preschool
All summer long children will learn from William Ellery Churchmouse* an animated mouse who models how to live our UU values. Themes such as friendship, generosity, gratitude, and justice will nurture our 3-5 year olds’ emotional and spiritual development.

Lauren Daniell, Director of Religious Education (she/her)
Welcome! I have been serving Horizon since 2013 after a long career as a classroom teacher. I invite you to contact me to learn more about programming for children, youth and families at Horizon at DLRE@horizonuu.org.
I’ve been a Unitarian Universalist since 1995, and was active as a congregant and leader at other UU congregations, including serving on boards of trustees and as the religious education chair before coming to Horizon.
