Children & Youth

Children and Teens

During the school year, families typically worship together for the first 15 minutes of the service and then children and youth are dismissed to their classes. The nursery opens its doors at 9:45 am for families attending worship.

What to expect when you visit: During the early part of the service, there is a “Time for All Ages” at the front of the sanctuary. Families are invited to sit near the front for this portion of the service. After the story, the children and teens exit through the side or back doors, meet their teachers in the lobby, and be escorted to their classrooms.

What if I want my child to stay with me? Children of any age are welcome to stay and worship with their families in the sanctuary or the Fellowship Hall where the service is also broadcast. The Fellowship Hall has a rocker and a children’s area in the NW corner. In the sanctuary in front of the AV booth there is a Hands-on Worship Center where all ages can do quiet, mindful activities such as meditative coloring, weaving, and drawing and can make use of manipulatives or “fidget items” like clay, stress balls and an Etch-a-Sketch during the worship service.

Can my toddler/preschooler join in on the Time for All Ages during the worship service? Yes. We ask that you accompany your toddler or preschooler to the front of the sanctuary and then walk them to class when the rest of the children are dismissed.

Youth Services

Our Coming of Age teens and Youth Group often lead annual worship services with the minister or their advisors. After dedicated planning and preparation, the youth share their values and insights with the full congregation. We value their vision and words. Teens also serve as worship associates.
