Horizon offers adults opportunities to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and spirit. Classes range from one-session workshops to semester-long courses. Information can also be found in the weekly newsletter and on bulletin boards around the church.

Adult Classes and Spiritual Growth Groups

Most groups sign-ups run through August 31st or September 7 depending on their start date.

Many classes and groups begin September and some begin in January (watch for sign-ups in December). Information about the weekly Sunday Morning Forum topics can be found by scrolling down. Learn more about the Horizon Book group and other fellowship groups HERE. Our 2 session Starting Point Small Group for newcomers happens about once every 3 months.

Our weekly facilitators bring topics that motivate us to live into our UU values, grow spiritually, and learn from one another in our free and responsible search for truth and meaning.  Topics and presenters vary from week to week. Drop-ins welcome. Please contact SMF@horizonuu.org if you have a presentation to give or a fresh topic idea to share.

Social Media: Addiction & the Battle for Your Time - Do we truly comprehend how much of our time and attention is given to technology? These videos will explore a new pandemic of addiction that might be the most pervasive in human history – and you are probably influenced by it. Our speakers will reveal how smartphones are addictive, ticking dangerously in our pockets, calling to us, delivering on tap, 24 hours a day, adapting to our needs, hacking our addictive tendencies through computer code, and creating dependencies.
