Children & Youth

Children and Teens

During the school year, families typically worship together for the first 15 minutes of the service and then children and youth are dismissed to their classes. The nursery opens its doors at 9:45 am for families attending worship.

What to expect when you visit: During the early part of the service, there is a “Time for All Ages” at the front of the sanctuary. Children up to age 10 are invited to come up and sit near the minister for this portion of the service. After the story, the children and teens exit through the side or back doors to their classes. The teachers and the Director of Lifespan Religious Education walk them to class.

What if I want my child to stay with me? Children of any age are welcome to stay and worship with their families in the sanctuary or remain in the Fellowship Hall where the service is broadcast. For changing needs, the nursery houses a changing table and diaper disposal unit. There are chairs located next to the Hands-on Worship Center where adults can participate in worship while their children make use of the center.

Can my toddler/preschooler join in on the Time for All Ages during the worship service? Yes. We ask that you accompany your toddler or preschooler to the front of the sanctuary and then walk them to class when the rest of the children are dismissed.

Youth Services

Our Coming of Age (9th-10th graders) and Youth Group (10th-12th graders) classes each lead annual worship services with the minister or their advisors. After dedicated planning and preparation, the youth share their values and insights with the full congregation. We value their vision and words.

All Ages Worship

On regular occasions the children and teens join the congregation for worship services specially designed to inspire people of all ages. These services may be more experiential and feature more music and rituals.
