Leadership News

Unitarian Universalist congregations are each self-governed. Our leadership — from group coordinators to board officers — includes and relies on the members and volunteers in our congregation. Serving in a leadership role at Horizon is a spiritual practice that both supports the church and nourishes the individual. Training and support is provided at every level; we learn and lead together.

Leadership Development and Nominating Committee (LD&NC)

News from the Leadership Development & Nominating Committee

(July 1, 2023) In the current bylaws approved by the congregation in May 2021, the Nominating Committee was renamed the Leadership Development & Nominating Committee (LD&NC). Our role was expanded to include providing leadership development opportunities to Horizon members with the intent of supporting existing church leaders and encouraging leadership growth within the congregation. One of the goals of the LD&NC is to encourage congregants to consider leadership as part of their spiritual practice, and to offer opportunities for current and future leaders to learn about healthy leadership practices in a church setting.

We will keep you posted on our new ventures in leadership development facilitation and where to learn about these opportunities.
