Checking in after the deep freeze of February 2021

Here at Horizon we are thinking of each and every one of you and have been trying to stay in touch via phone, social media and email. Once again we find ourselves in unprecedented times with the recent snow, deep freeze and resulting problems due to power outages. Please remember Horizon can be a place to find help or talk to someone about recent events. Congregants were contacted this week and you are encouraged to call back and reach out if you are in need:

And remember, we are in the midst of a natural disaster and no one can be expected to function normally even after the power is restored, the pipes are replaced and the snow melts.  We will have to go easy on our children and ourselves for quite some time.  Expect exhaustion. Expect children to act out. Know that you can't and won't be feel "normal" and productive for some time.  We we have to adjust our expectations.

And of course there is hope. Just a few weeks ago, Rev Lora wrote in her message, " There is hope and there is more work to be done. Slow down. Take time to grieve. Take time to heal. There will always be more work to be done. There will always be more hope."

Yours In Faith,
Lauren
