“You Got This” by Madhupriya Srinivasan

Artist Statement

“My art is a celebration of life, of being in the moment and believing! Everyday life and Nature inspire me to explore within and work from the inside out to convey joy and abundance. I believe that when we come from a place of gratitude and self-love, embrace ourselves as who we truly are and work from the “Now”, we open ourselves to unlimited possibilities!

Working in layers, I represent the myriad emotions that we go through as we evolve. I believe that variety adds more beauty and joy in our lives and in art. So on the one hand watercolors and acrylics flow effortlessly to create soft calming effects and on the other hand my work is filled with details, repetitive patterns and textures!

Symbolisms are also an integral part of my art. Dragonflies represent self realization, whales represent gratitude, Koi fish symbolize love and friendship and lotuses and succulents represent resilience and perseverance!

My process goes back and forth between intuition and discernment.

I believe that the power to heal, to rise, to grow, to make our dreams come true and to be happy…….is all within us. My passion is to create art that resonates these beliefs and motivates, empowers and brings joy!”

Madhupriya Srinivasan was born and brought up in India.

A creative atmosphere at home and exposure to a rich variety of visual and performing arts from the different states she grew up in, started her on her artistic journey. After marriage, she moved to the USA and lived in many states before moving to Plano, Texas a few years back. Her love for travel has also taken her to various countries. Her experiences with a wide variety of cultures and lifestyles over the years further influenced her growth as a person and as an artist and made her realize that we are all connected at a much deeper level!

A professional fashion designer by training, her passion for art made her immerse herself into her lifelong hobby and become a professional artist. Mostly self-taught, Madhupriya has also learnt a lot from the workshops she has attended over the years and continues to explore and grow every day of her life. She works mainly with watercolors and Acrylics.

Her art has been exhibited in numerous art shows including juried art shows at The Gallery 8680, Frisco Discovery Centre, The Cotton Mill, Irving Art Association and Blue House too. She has also been part of The Other Art Fair. Her artwork is in private collections in India, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and across the USA.

Madhupriya is also passionate about sharing the fun and joy of creating with watercolors through her in person workshops and online classes. She believes that creating art is more about the joy of the creative process than focusing on the result. She encourages play and embracing imperfection as she guides people in their watercolor explorations!
