Share the Plate

Horizon Share the Plate collections usually occur on the 3rd Sunday each month as a way to involve us in more and diversified social outreach. Money collected during the offertory not designated specifically for pledge payments goes to outreach.

On Sunday, January 20, the recipient will be:

Share The Plate – Giving Hope, Inc. – Sunday, January 20

Giving Hope, Inc. is a nonprofit agency that serves individuals and families experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in Denton County, Texas. Since 1986, their housing assistance programs have helped thousands to stabilize and become self-sufficient. Their staff performs street outreach, case management, and advocacy through collaboration with community partners for support services. They provide rental and utility assistance for eligible participants, with specific programs for persons with disabilities and veterans. Giving HOPE, Inc. also manages a transitional housing program called The Wheeler House Project.  This transitional home and affordable health clinic is in Denton.  The project is a collaboration between Giving HOPE, Inc. which manages the transitional housing program, Health Services of North Texas which runs the medical clinic, and Serve Denton which provides support, additional resources, and facilities maintenance. Wheeler House provides temporary housing for single mothers and children experiencing homelessness. To learn more, visit www.hopeincdenton.com.
