Spirit of Justice Discussion Group – Tuesday, May 5 6:30-8:30 via Zoom
2 Topics for discussion:
1. How is the Covid-19 Pandemic and associated shut-downs etc affecting different groups in different ways? Are there policies that could be changed/put in place that would help change the landscape for those who are disproportionately affected? What current or historical behaviors/policies are causing groups to be more adversely affected? Are there "white" ways of "coping with" the crisis that are minimizing the experiences of others?
2. “Living in an Age of Endings: Big Picture Practical Wisdom” Presentation by Rev. Michael Dowd from April 22. Interest has been expressed in have a debriefing over this content. There's theology, philosophy, ecology, and social justice topics intertwined! Phew! Email justice@horizonuu.org for the link to the presentation.
The Spirit of Justice Discussion Group began in January 2020 with the discussion of the book "White Fragility" by Robin DiAngelo. We plan to continue with guided discussed in the fall.
