The Book Cart

The Book Cart is one of HUUC’s most successful ventures and provides valuable services to visitors, friends, and members. Book Cart Committee volunteers stock and sell books, fair trade coffee and chocolate, and related items each Sunday before and after service. Any profit from the sale of books or other items is donated to the church. Recently, for example, the Book Cart Committee bought new hymnals for the sanctuary.
Items sold at the book cart reflect and support:

  • Perspectives of faith that illuminate the universal questions of humanity
  • Authentic depths of religious insight
  • UU principles, especially the free search for truth and meaning, spiritual practice, respect and tolerance for other faiths and cultures, and a pluralistic society
  • The importance of reading in our lives.

The Book Cart committee is always looking for volunteers who love books and enjoy talking to others about them. The primary volunteer responsibility would be to work approximately one Sunday per month at the book cart, respond to committee emails, and attend a meeting twice per year. If interested in volunteering, please send an email to the committee at: bookcart@horizonuu.org or drop by the book cart and talk to one of the volunteers.

Books may be special ordered by contacting a Book Cart volunteer or by completing a special order form on this site. Special orders may be picked up at the Book Cart.

OnLine Sales

You can also expand your library and help raise money for Horizon UU by purchasing items online with Amazon.com.  A percentage of all purchases made will come back to the church if you enter their site from here.
