Thinking About Becoming a Member?

Whether you’ve been attending Horizon for a few weeks or a few years, if you’re ready to deepen your experience by becoming a member, we’re ready to welcome you. We welcome people of all beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and physical abilities.

So, if you’re ready, we encourage you to attend our Exploring Horizon Classes. Even if you’ve participated in an Adult Exploration class or one of our social actions projects, attended one of our plays or concerts or just sat in on our Sunday services, this series of two classes is where all your questions get answers!

Exploring Horizon Classes:
Session I – New to UU
Designed for people new to our denomination and those interested in membership at Horizon, these orientation classes are usually offered quarterly on Saturday mornings or Tuesday evenings. The classes are usually two and a half hours long and childcare is available upon request.

  • • Expand your circle of friends at the church.

Session II – How Do U Fit Into UU?
These classes are also scheduled on Saturday mornings or Tuesday evenings usually a week or so after Session I.  They are around 4 hours long and there is a wealth of information presented!  A light lunch or supper is served at the break and childcare is available upon request.

During Session II classes you will:

  • • Learn the specifics about how the church and its membership support each other.
  • • Learn Learn how to become involved and to enrich your life at Horizon and as a Unitarian Universalist
  • • Learn about Horizon’s committee and task force structure and how our members form the leadership of our community.

How to Become a Voting Member:
To become a voting member of Horizon Unitarian Universalist Church, simply:
