What is a Journey Group?
- Category: Connect
A Journey Group is a form of Chalice Circle “randomly” based on the availability of 6-10 people who meet at an agreed time; led by trained facilitators. Diversity of members enhances the group experience.
Journey Groups are designed to enrich our experience and our community with the sort of conversation and attentiveness that can be difficult in the busy life of a growing congregation.
Journey Groups courage our spiritual growth and help us develop relationships of substance and depth.
Journey Group members listen to each other, but do not attempt to solve each other’s problems.
Journey Groups covenant to a set of relational ground rules to create a safe, confidential environment for spiritual exploration.
Topics: selected from a wide variety of pre-prepared sessions, for example: The UU Seven Principles, Our Spiritual Journeys, Service as Our Prayer, Personal Beliefs and Values, Spiritual Challenges, Attitude Adjustment, Holidays, Being Human, Journaling, Spiritual Practices, and Events and National Tragedies that Affect our Lives. Similar topics may be covered in different Journey Groups, but each session will be unique due to the individual experiences of the group members.
Time Commitment: typically 10-12 sessions, 1.5-2 hrs, held weekly or every other week

Closing words, Extinguishing Chalice
When Can Journey Groups Begin?
A new Journey Group can begin whenever we have six or more people who can meet at the same time.
There’s always a new one in the works!
