Wake Now Our Vision (WNOV)

Name Horizon as a beneficiary in your will, your IRA, your life insurance or other planned giving, and the WNOV campaign will give Horizon a 10% matching gift, up to $10,000, for our immediate use.  Other UUA organizations are also eligible for WNOV.

The UU Congregation at Shelter Rock is sponsoring this program to strengthen Unitarian Universalism today and in the future.  Details can be found at the web pages below, including a link to the form that must be submitted to obtain the matching funds.

Sunday, July 15th the Share the Plate recipient will be TXUUJM.

Guided by Unitarian Universalist principles, Texas UU Justice Ministry educates and organizes member congregations and partners with sympathetic organizations in order to advocate effectively for public policies that:

  • Uphold the worth and dignity of every person;
  • Further justice, equity, and compassion in human relations;
  • Ensure the use of the democratic process;
  • Protect religious freedom; and,
  • Promote respect for the interdependent web of all existence.

Find out more about TXUUJM’s work in supporting refugees, the sanctuary movement, and reproductive justice at txuujm.org.

Last month, Horizon collected $680 for Metrocrest Services. Thank you!

Inherent Wholeness

Rev. Robert Moore

"We who are Unitarian Universalist not only affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person; we also affirm the inherent wholeness of every being -- despite apparent brokenness...Healing begins when we examine what's in pain, wonder how it occurred, and allow it to teach us...And it begins by placing full trust and faith that there is inherent wholeness in every broken situation."
