Future Sundays

Listed below are upcoming services. Please check back frequently for new updates.

September 5 - Water Service “Deep Water Horizon” Rev. Hamilton
The British Petroleum oil-rig, “Deep Water Horizon” lived out its prophetic name when it joined the other countless shipwrecks down in the briny deep. What we mean here on dry land is totally different. When we plunge our depths, it isn’t oil we find but clarity, fresh water from ancient aquifers, hidden springs. Being part of this church means discovering life’s deeper messages. Bring your own sacred water to blend with our Universal Water.

September 12 - Dedication of Our New Building – Rev. Hamilton
Come celebrate our formal dedication of the new and improved Horizon. More room, more hospitality, more love, peace, hope as we renew our mission and welcome more seekers into our midst. We will feature our wonderful builders (Ridgemont), the architect (David Marsee) and our incredible leadership. The choir will sing original music and there will be a reception after the service.

Friday, September 17 - Special Yom Kippur Service 7 p.m.
Please see article in newsletter. All are welcome. This will be a relatively short service but important.

September 19 - Gay Pride Day Megan Dalby, intern minister
Megan Dalby, our new Intern Minister, will introduce herself to us and tell us about her journey into the ministry.

In the afternoon many of us will join ten thousand others in Dallas to celebrate the civil rights of the LGBT community at the annual Gay Pride Parade. Please plan to join us at 2 in Dallas if you can, or gather in the parking lot after service to caravan. It is well worth the effort.

September 26 - “Immigrants” Rev. Hamilton
We all know that we come from immigrants, all of us. Our ancestors emigrated out of Africa, all of them. Some left Africa 50,000 years ago. Some arrived for the first time last week from Nigeria or Egypt. Some came as slaves. Some first went to the South Pacific. Some followed the mastodon across an ice bridge from Siberia to Alaska. What do we do now? Social Issues and Action Committee is kicking off a year long inquiry into the complex issues of immigration reform. Come prepared to trace your journey from Africa.
